About the Artist

Arie Azene, born in 1934 in Hamburg, Germany, currently resides in Jerusalem. Azene has exhibited his work in many institutions across Israel, Europe, and the USA. His works are included in numerous public and private art collections.

 

In the late 1950s, he was a guest artist with the "New Horizons" group, which aimed to introduce international art influences to Israel. Azene was known for his lyrical and abstract painting and sculpting style. During the 1960s and 1970s, he participated in exhibitions organized by the "Ten +", a group that sought to offer an alternative to traditional art institutions and the local art scene.
